- Katie and Capella will team up again at the premiere of the “American Nurse Project” movie in Atlanta, GA on May 6 and in Louisville, KY at the ANCC Pathway to Excellence Conference on May 14-15.
Duke is a well-known public figure, nurse advocate, and social media maven. Her experience on ABC’s “NY Med” taught her that nurses need a “positive, professional ‘person in the spotlight’ who would be a role model and public figure.” When she’s not working as a critical care nurse in New York City or studying to take her NP board exam, Duke is meeting with and encouraging nurses everywhere across the country to continue their education, get their next degree, and become nurse leaders.
“I’ve partnered with Capella because they support the same values as I do: education, accessibility, opportunity, and the power of social media and sociability both on and offline, ” Duke says. “The needs of students have changed, knowledge sharing has changed, information is accessible with one click, and everyone has the right to affordable and enlightening education.”
“I have made it my mission to provide the nursing world and health care industry with a relatable, real, and inspiring public figure who, through a national speaking tour with Capella, will give my firsthand personal and professional journey to help others find their own inspiration.”
More tour dates will be announced throughout the year.
