Signed Guitar News
In January 2007 Mad Hatter Concerts launched the “Legends Signed Guitar” project. An initiative to raise much needed funds and awareness for Rainbows Children’s Hospice. A care facility for Children with life limiting conditions.
The level of support had been tremendous; with some of the worlds greatest names from Rock n Roll coming on board to help with this venture. They included Eric Clapton, Jimmy Page, Brian May, Pete Townshend, Gary Moore, Mark Knopfler, Bill Wyman and Hollywood Star & Blues musician Steven Seagal. Several other great names had also promised to ad their signatures to the guitar too hoping to make this one of the most collectable, signed guitars in the world.
Sadly on October 16th while in the hands of a National Courier service the guitar was lost. To say everyone has been left devastated by this news is an understatement. Although exhaustive attempts have been made to trace the guitar, its whereabouts remain unknown.
Parcel force has since offered to make a sizeable donation to the Rainbows charity, however this cannot replace the huge amount of awareness and good will that has been lost.
On Friday December 7th the story became National News and featured on TV, Radio and within the national press. Since then, the response has been overwhelming with offers of help pouring in. From the very generous offer of a new guitar from Fender, to many great names from the world of Rock n Roll offering to add their signatures.
Mad Hatter Concerts now plan to continue with this endeavour and will bring you regular updates of the guitars progress.
